Four children eating meal at table

One in four children in northwest Indiana face hunger! The Food Bank of NWI provides two programs to help get food to hungry children in Lake and Porter Counties. Many of those children rely on the free and reduced lunch programs at their school…but what happens when school lunch is not provided? That’s where the BackPack Program and the Summer Food Service Program help! During the school year the Food Bank of NWI partners with participating schools to provide weekend meals and snacks for children in need. During the summer months, the Food Bank partners with more than a dozen feeding sites that provide breakfast and lunch to children under the age of 18.
