Food Bank of Northwest Indiana Receives $5,000 Grant from Joy in Childhood Foundation in Celebration of Giving Tuesday
Funds will support hunger relief programs for children in Lake and Porter Counties 

(Merrillville, IN) (November 27, 2018) – The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana recently announced  it has received a $5,000 grant from the Joy in Childhood Foundation, which is powered by Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins, and brings the simple joys of childhood to kids battling hunger or illness. Funding from the grant will support the Food Bank’s childhood hunger relief programs, including BackPack, Summer Food Service, and school-based Mobile Marketplace distributions.

“We’re grateful for the this grant from the Joy in Childhood Foundation,” said Steve Beekman, executive director of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.  “Their support helps ensure children in our community will continue to receive the nutrition they need to grow, play, and thrive.”

Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is one of 150 organizations receiving a grant from The Joy in Childhood Foundation. In total, the Joy in Childhood Foundation is awarding $2 million to organizations nationwide in celebration of Giving Tuesday, a day dedicated to global giving.
