The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is teaming up with Premier Partner Strack & Van Til in November and December to raise funds for hunger relief efforts across the Region this holiday season. The Checkout Challenge encourages shoppers to “round up” their bill when shopping at Strack & Van Til or Town & Country stores now through January 3rd, with the difference going to support the Food Bank’s hunger relief efforts in Northwest Indiana.

“The Round Up campaign is proof that every little bit counts, and even loose change can make a huge difference. Every dollar raised will provide three meals to a child or adult in need,” said Victor A. Garcia, President & CEO of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. “We are grateful to Strack & Van Til and their customers for continuing to support the mission of the Food Bank and make such a great impact in the fight against hunger in Northwest Indiana.”

This marks the 9th annual holiday giving campaign for the Food Bank and Strack & Van Til. In 2019, the Checkout Challenge raised $194,000 to provide meals for hunger relief—a sum that provides more than 495,000 meals for individuals and families in need. “By choosing to round up at the register, customers are providing nutritious meals to our hungry neighbors and joining the Food Bank in the fight against hunger,” said Garcia.
