The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana has been leading the Region’s fight against hunger since 1982 and distributes more than 4.3 million meals each year to hungry kids, adults and seniors across Lake and Porter counties. Each month the Food Bank serves more than 20,000 individuals through its 100+ partner agencies and programs like Pantry on the Go, Commodity Supplemental Food Program for seniors and the BackPack program.

Each year more than 145,000 households are served by agencies in Lake and Porter Counties.

In Northwest Indiana, more than 100,000 individuals are food insecure, meaning they lack access to enough good, nutritious food for themselves and their families. In other words, one in six people in our community doesn’t know where their next meal will come from. Because of generous supporters, corporate partners and grant monies, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is able to provide hope to thousands of our hungry neighbors.
