According to Feeding America families give up a number of everyday services, including medicine and utilities. The statics of what food insecure Americans give up are staggering:

The Food Bank’s family programs, like Pantry on the Go, provide nutritious food to families that may not have access to a traditional food pantry. Mobile pantries travel to different locations in Lake and Porter Counties throughout the year. Check the Pantry on the Go and Mobile Pantry link for upcoming dates and locations for these services.

Follow the Food Bank of NWI on Facebook or Twitter for current updates and “flash” pantries. Flash pantries are non-scheduled pantries created when the Food Bank receives an abundance of fresh fruits and vegetables. Clients are then encouraged to visit the warehouse facility that day to receive items that are close to expiration.
