Congressman Frank J. Mrvan brought a large group, comprised of his staff, campaign volunteers and local leaders to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana a part of what was dubbed, “Frank’s Community Day of Action,” on Friday, March 31, 2023.
The featured article by the Times of Northwest Indiana shares a great deal about this happening at the Food Bank that day. The impact of volunteering and the connection over key issues that are fundamental in the fight against food insecurity in our community was powerful. It takes this type of dedication and commitment to serving, as demonstrated by Congressman Frank J. Mrvan, his team and fellow supporters that volunteered together, to make real change in our community.
Mrvan’s group assembled food boxes for Senior Hunger Relief programs ran by the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana, which is the largest senior food assistance program at food bank in Indiana. They toured the facility and learned more about food insecurity in Lake and Porter Counties and the ways to help to end hunger in our community.
Looking ahead, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is eager honor Congressman Mrvan at The Soiree, on May 8th for his work to strengthen the district and improve the lives of those in our community. There is more on the horizon in building upon more ways to partner to advocate for all neighbors to have access to the resources they need to thrive.
