Recently, the ALDI USA distribution center in Valparaiso, participated in the company’s annual disaster food box packing event. This collaboration with Feeding America is part of a long partnership with ALDI, and this year’s disaster packing was activated across all of their distribution centers in the country.
The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is grateful and honored to have been chosen as the recipient of this donation and effort of the ALDI teams in our area. ALDI teams came from downstate and Illinois to support the Valparaiso team! Together they prepared 572 boxes of shelf stable items that we will have on hand for disaster situations. Each box will provide neighbors with approximately 20 meals. They surpassed their box goal and their volunteer participation goal!!
