BackPack to School to Fight Childhood Hunger

The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana’s Portage BackPack Program has grown from providing weekend meals to 10 children in one Portage Township School, to 160 children across all 11 Portage Township Schools. Protein by the truckload fuels hope for hungry communities

On Tuesday, June 28, Dutch Farms, Inc. donated a truckload of 10,800 dozen eggs to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana. The eggs will be distributed through the Food Bank’s 120+ partner food pantries, soup kitchens, and other agencies and will provide 13,500 meals to individuals and families struggling with hunger across Lake and Porter counties.
