The Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation Contributes $250,000

Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. recently announced a $1 million contribution, through the Cleveland-Cliffs Foundation, to 44 food banks throughout the United States, providing up to 10 million meals. The Food Bank of Northwest Indiana is one of the beneficiaries receiving $250,000. In December 2020, Cleveland-Cliffs Inc. acquired ArcelorMittal USA which included 7500 employees in the region and two of the Region’s cornerstone steel production sites at Indiana Harbor and Burns Harbor. Albert’s Diamond Jewelers Donate 150,000 Meals

Albert’s Diamond Jewelers contributed $50,000 to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana to help support local residents in need of food assistance. One month ago, the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana was issued a challenge, inspired by the generosity of Civic Leaders, Tom Sourlis and Sue Eleuterio. Charged to raise matching funds of $125,000, the Food Bank reached out to YOU, our NW Indiana community for help.        Through a united effort to provide emergency food assistance, Legacy Foundation, Foundations of East Chicago, and Crown Point Community Foundation presented the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana with a $12,500 grant award.
