Kohl’s recently gifted $8 million to nonprofits nationwide, including a Kohl’s Cares(R) grant of $100,000 for health and wellness to the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.
“Receiving this grant is the fruit of a strong collaborative effort of several members of our Food Bank team working together to advance our mission and engage companies like Kohl’s in our hunger relief efforts”, said Victor A. Garcia, President & CEO of the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana.
Kohl’s embraced the spirit of the season by giving back to their local communities through Kohl’s “A Community with Heart Program”, demonstrating the company’s ongoing commitment to family health and wellness. Kohl’s store teams and leaders across the country identified and nominated nonprofit recipients from 49 states that are near and dear to their hearts.
“I’ve really enjoyed seeing the growth and impact the Food Bank of Northwest Indiana has made over the years in our community. I am so incredibly thankful to work for a company who also noticed this impact and decided they wanted to be a part of continuing that growth”, said Lea Glines, Kohl’s Assistant Store Manager.
The donations are made possible through Kohl’s philanthropic merchandise program, Kohl’s Cares®, which sells children’s books and toys and donates 100 percent of the net profit to charitable organizations across the country that improve the health and wellness of families.
